Semiconductor Trends to Support Sustainable 6G 


  • Emilio joined CEA-Leti as a research engineer in 2006 after working four years at Motorola Labs. He became a Ph.D. student supervisor in 2007. From 2011 to 2020, he served first as the Smart Devices & Telecommunications European collaborative strategic programs director, and later as the Smart Devices & Telecommunications Scientific and Innovation Director.
  • Emilio has published approximately 120 papers in international conferences, journals and book chapters, and has given more than 150 international invited talks, keynotes and tutorials. He is the main inventor or co-inventor of more than 60 patents. He earned a Ph.D. degree in Engineering Science in 2005 from Telecom Paris.
  • In 2018 he directed the first 5G mobile millimeter-wave demonstration in realistic operational environments at the 2018 winter Olympic Games. Since 2018, he has held the French Research Director Habilitation (HDR), and since February 2020 has directed activities at CEA-Leti focusing on future 6G technologies.
