  • The Carnot network comprises 39 French public research structures, renowned and certified for their expertise in deploying research partnerships to foster innovation in business. They cover all of France and work alongside businesses of all sizes across all sectors – from start-ups, to SMEs and large corporations. Their mission is to prepare the industry and economy of tomorrow by supporting the transformation of businesses and simplifying access to R&D for their innovation projects.

  • The Carnot institutes are major stakeholders in research and provide businesses with access to France's most powerful R&D offering.Carnot employs 20% of French public sector researchers and handles 55% of all French corporate-funded public R&D contracts. The Carnot network: 10,000 R&D contracts with businesses every year, over €800 million in contractual revenue generated directly with its partners and the second largest patent filer in France.

  • The Carnot Label was launched in 2006 and is awarded by the French Ministry in charge of Research and Innovation to promote public research partnerships with economic stakeholders by guaranteeing scientific excellence and professionalism in accordance with the Carnot Charter.
